Patrick Stromme (1989) received his BFA from The University of Wisconsin – Oshkosh, and his MFA from The University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee. He currently teaches drawing classes at Mount Mary University. He specializes in painting, drawing, and photography. When Patrick was young, his family took residence in a home that originally served as a doctor's post when it was built in 1908. Growing up, he found medical kits, journals, and otherworldly reminders of the home's past life.Stromme explores themes of afterlife, ghosts, surface, and time. Recently he also has taken an interest in environmental issues, such as man’s interaction and disruption of the natural world. Stromme’s work asks us to step out of our historical moment of screens and material, and instead reminds us that haunted houses do exist and the ghosts of our Planet can reach out through space and touch us.
