Until 1993 Jeroen Daled’s paintings are inspired by Greek mythology and the human condition. From then on he starts focusing on people and their inner world, being predominantly interested in the head, painting portraits of friends and family. The portraits are mostly painted in a variety of grey tones and with the encaustic technique. Later on he uses more colour. From 2015 on he dedicates himself to photography; a medium that opens a complete new and freeing perspective, which results in a wide variety of subjects: (still) the portrait, but also wide landscapes and any theme which captures his attention.
