I search for details in simple, daily things. Mostly just the impression a hallway or room gives while passing through. So nothing physical or any kind of object, but rather the color scheme and atmosphere. How a white and clean surrounding can contain so many differently colored shades, how a color can be found in multiple spots and objects scattered throughout the room so the whole package feels balanced subconsciously. It keeps me interested in my surroundings, allows me to dream and dwell in moments that actually pass by in my life and my reality, instead of dreaming of what can happen but will not. The fascination in what I see around me, what is mostly taken for granted, is what I paint. I have an urge to capture the feeling of peace and quiet, or those moments at least. I materialize those impressions in a painting, so everyone can notice them, giving every spectator a chance to stand still and breathe for a second.
